Our Mission
Our mission:
Our mission is to start a new conversation around motherhood in a positive and fun way. To show the world that we should celebrate motherhood, equally as we celebrate the birth of a new life.
Brand Logo
Our logo design is inspired by a symbolic menswear piece – the collar.
Our message to mothers is to “embrace your inner masculinity”. We all have an inner masculine side in us when it comes to protecting our family and we are much stronger than we imagine.
The collar design is a signature piece that represents the inner masculinity in every mother. The fishnet represents fun, sexy, and mysterious. The red bowtie on the collar represents TRM is a ladies' club for badass mums.
Meet Our Founder:
Selene Xie
Starting a new conversation around motherhood
Meet our founder, Selene Xie. She is a third-culture-kid that grew up between "the East" and "the West", from Hong Kong to New York.
Growing up, Selene was immersed in diverse and contrasting cultures of the East and West, which gave her a much better understanding of how women are portrayed and treated differently from each culture. She has seen and experienced many of society's toxic misconceptions and prejudices about how women should be, and they have never sat right with her.
The way our current culture can influence a woman’s thoughts can be extremely toxic. Women are expected to be a certain way in order to fit in and feel "normal". After Selene became pregnant with her first child, she had experienced first hand the toxic prejudices for mums from people around her, and it gave her the burning desire to change society's toxic misconceptions of mothers. So she decided to take action and created The Rebel Mums.
Selene carried on the TRM mission throughout her both pregnancies and poured her heart and soul into building the brand.
This is how The Rebel Mums was born.
